Pattern: Tea with Jam and Bread by Heidi Kirrmaier
Size: S (34.75 bust)
Wool: Madelinetosh DK Twist in Antler, Peri and Lepidoptra
Alterations: None

You guys may already know since I feel like I talk about it all the time, but I love Heidi Kirrmaier’s knitting designs. Every pattern has something different or interesting to it so they keep you interested and her patterns are really beautifully designed. I love how they all have a modern, comfortable, classic style to them. The Tea with Jam and Bread jumper is one of Heidi’s simplest designs but it is so comfortable and easy to throw on. I literally lived in this thing over winter when the weather was colder.

I finished my Tea with Jam and Bread jumper just before I went skiing in January and it still looks great. Madelinetosh DK Twist yarn really is brilliant. It’s hardwearing, doesn’t pill too much and is machine washable too (although I tend to hand wash if I can). Plus it really shows off stitch design. The yarn also doesn’t grow very much after washing and blocking – although this jumper did become a little bit longer but I was happy with that since I was looking for a slouchy, lounge look.

The design of this jumper is a straight forward one. I would say that it would be a good project for a beginner knitter who wants to expand their knowledge a little further since there is basic colour changing and pockets involved. Speaking of the pockets – they’re really cute but a little bit small. Not really practical as they can’t hold that much but they are a nice detail on the design.

I really love this make and the colour combinations are really flattering as well. Win all round! What handmade knits have you been wearing lately?

Ya it is really comfy – it’s the sort of jumper you throw on over anything to be warm and cosy :)

I really love her designs. I’ve nearly all of them in my ravelry queue and someday will make them! I’ve made the Nanook before and it’s a lovely pattern and a quick make. I live in that cardigan too :)
